EKO Cyprus & Karaiskakio Foundation "Match for Life"

Match for Life

EKO Cyprus and Karaiskakio Foundation Campaign are supporting the program for the registration of new bone marrow donors.

With the slogan ‘Match for Life’, EKO Cyprus shows its support for Karaiskakio Foundation’s efforts to inform and raise public awareness about the importance of bone marrow donations and to encourage active participation both in enriching the Foundation's donor registry and in the program for identifying new donors.

As part of EKO Cyprus's campaign, the following actions will be implemented:

  • Informative seminars for EKO Cyprus personnel, aiming to register them in the volunteer donor registry.
  • Organization of a Charity Dinner to encourage customers, companies, and partners to support the campaign and financially assist the program.
  • Conducting samplings at 20 EKO service stations throughout Cyprus.
  • Proceeds from the car wash will be donated to support the donor identification program.
  • Inviting companies to register their staff in the volunteer donor registry.

‘What if you are the one in a hundred?’

According to scientific estimates, for every one hundred donors registered in the donor registry, one of them could be a match and save a life. Therefore, each new registration increases the chances of finding a compatible donor, offering hope for a new beginning to patients who are in need of a bone marrow transplant.

Ways to participate:

Become a donor!

If one in a hundred can save a life, could you be that one? Five minutes is all it takes to give a saliva sample and offer hope to someone in need! The process is simple and painless, and the feeling of satisfaction from knowing you've contributed to saving a life is truly indescribable!

Support the program for identifying new volunteer donors!

This is a particularly important process where the unique genetic identity of the collected samples is determined. The more detailed and accurate the identification, the higher the chances of finding a compatible donor for patients who need a bone marrow transplant.
