EKO Cyprus boosts its efforts to enrich bone marrow donor registry…

EKO Cyprus is boosting its efforts to enrich the bone marrow donor registry of the Karaiskakio Foundation.

A volunteer sampling was organized as part of the 26th International "Marios Agathangelou" Road Race.

With a sense of social responsibility, EKO Cyprus, a subsidiary of HELLENiQ ENERGY, organized a sampling on Sunday, October 13, as part of the “Match For Life” campaign, in collaboration with the Karaiskakio Foundation, thus continuing to lead the way in promoting active social participation in the fight against leukemia, as well as other rare forms of cancer and serious hematological diseases.

The sampling station was set up at the starting line of the 26th International "Marios Agathangelou" Road Race – Cyprus Road Races Grand Prix, in Limassol. Participants and spectators of the race rushed to offer samples to enrich the Karaiskakio Foundation’s bone marrow donor registry.

The collection of samples was carried out by specialized members of the Foundation, with the help of EKO Cyprus staff, who informed the visitors about the initiative. They emphasized, among other things, that compatible donors have a 1 in 100 chance of giving someone a second chance at life. Subsequently, the EKO Cyprus team also participated in the charity race, which drew hundreds of participants of all ages.

Through the "Match for Life" campaign and the central slogan "What if you are the 1 in 100?", EKO Cyprus aims to raise public awareness regarding the effort to enrich the Karaiskakio Foundation’s bone marrow donor registry. This initiative is part of EKO Cyprus' Corporate Responsibility program, which has long supported organizations and foundations that make a significant contribution to society.

At the same time, EKO Cyprus provides significant financial support to the Karaiskakio Foundation with nationwide actions, covering the costs of identifying new volunteer bone marrow donors. Specifically, samples are collected at 20 of the company’s service stations in all cities, with the help of Foundation representatives, while additional revenue from activities at selected fuel stations is allocated to support the donor identification program.

Once again, EKO Cyprus stands by those in need, creating the conditions for a better future. In this effort, the company thanks the public for its support so far and once again calls on citizens to embrace the effort to register in the bone marrow donor registry, helping save lives.
