Warm Embrace from EKO Cyprus

«Warm Embrace»: EKO Cyprus donates more than 500.000 liters of heating oil to institutions and to Makario Hospital

EKO Cyprus remains committed to its social contribution and helps improve the quality of life for citizens, especially children, through the successful initiative "Warm Embrace". This initiative began in November 2022 and continues for the third consecutive year, covering the heating oil needs of charitable institutions and organizations.

Thus far, EKO Cyprus, a subsidiary of the leading energy group HELLENiQ ENERGY, has provided free heating oil to 13 charitable institutions, the "Archbishop Makarios III" Hospital, as well as the Adult Day Care Center for People with Disabilities in Peristerona. The total contribution is expected to exceed 500,000 liters by the end of the year.

Strengthening the commitment of supporting society and addressing its needs effectively, EKO Cyprus focuses its efforts on areas located at an altitude of over 600 meters, that host nurseries, daycare centers, elderly homes, and care centers for people with disabilities. Specifically, these include the communities of Foini, Agros, Evrychou, Kalopanayiotis, Kapedes, Kyperounta, Palaichori, Pano Kyvides, Pano Lefkara, Pelendri, Salamiou, and Temvria, which are part of the National Strategy for the Development of Mountain Communities in Troodos.

At the same time, EKO's "Embrace of Love" extends to the "Archbishop Makarios III" Hospital, the only hospital specialized in maternity and children's care, as well as the Day Care Center in Peristerona.

Referring to the initiative, the CEO of EKO Cyprus, Mr. Giorgos Gregoras, stated: "Giving back to our fellow citizens is an integral part of EKO Cyprus' core values. In this spirit, we continue this year to support charitable institutions in mountainous areas and at Makarios Hospital with all our strength. We extend our hands to offer warmth during the winter months and a warm embrace of love to those who need it most. We promise to do everything in our power not only to continue this initiative in the coming years but also to expand it."
